Berte Jessen
Berte Jessen was born in 1937 and trained in Copenhagen at the Academy of Art and Design following her training she was employed by Royal Porcelain Manufactory Copenhagen.
Berte married Klaus Köhle and moved to Germany where she ran a ceramics studio in Hechingern from 1972 until the early 2000s. During the time she worked in Germany she returned for long periods to Denmark as she took her inspiration from the country.
She owes inspiration to her country - and not least the artistic education she received there both at the academy and at Royal Copenhagen.
