Marianne Starck

Marianne Starck b 1931, was one of the top Ceramicists of her day educated in Hamburg she joined Michael Andersen of Rhone on the island of Bornholm in 1955. She remained with the company until they closed down in 1993. She contributed a significant number of designs some of the most recognisable being the bird wall reliefs. The Persia glaze was one that she exploited to the full producing many designs featuring cats, ladies and children.  The image shown here is from the 1950s Tribal range.
